A physical therapist giving a manual therapy on another person's back, focusing on the hands and upper body.

I graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a degree in Religious Studies and every intention of working in human rights until an injury led me to become a physical therapy patient. I was intrigued by the thought of joining the profession, but the decision to return to school was not one to be taken lightly. I wandered the globe as I meditated on this decision and eventually found myself in Rishikesh, India getting my 200 hour yoga teaching certification. It was there that I decided that a career dedicated to helping people move better was right for me.

I have lived, studied and worked in many places: Germany, NYC, the renown Houston Medical Center, New Orleans and Wisconsin. As a result of my exposure to different cultures and areas, I have an eclectic approach to life and physical therapy.

There is no one way and I use multi-modal techniques to give you the best results. You are an individual I am treating, not a singular body part, injury or diagnosis. Your recovery, your therapy is based on your needs and goals; we collaborate together to find what works best for you.

Because my sports and fitness background includes gymnastics and dance, time spent as a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, I am very aware of how the body moves. I have or continue to participate in long-distance running, cycling, strength training, yoga and Pilates which gives me a broad scope of movement practices. My devotion to fitness, preventive health and wellness of body, mind and soul is interwoven into my treatment approach. I treat your whole body.

I have worked in hand specialty, acute trauma care, long-term care, in-home, and outpatient. However, the majority of my work has been in orthopedics for close to 20 years! I have worked with all types of persons from young to senior, from sedentary to Olympic competitors. Wherever you land in this range, I can help you.

I hold a Doctorate and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, and I’m a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Fellow in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. I’m also certified in manual therapy, dry needling, and, most recently, myofunctional therapy. Before PT, I earned a BA in English and Drama and worked as an ACSM-certified fitness instructor and personal trainer. Yes, I am a NERD. I love school, I love to learn, teach and help others!

Outside of work, I love the arts, ballet, paddle boarding, my soon-to-be husband, my two daughters, my dogs, my friends, Pilates, yoga, hiking, traveling, chocolate… oh, so much more!

I graduated with my doctorate in physical therapy from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. I was lucky enough to land my first job at an incredible clinic with mentors who encouraged me to go through fellowship training, something less than 1% of physical therapists commit to. In 2023, I completed a fellowship program with Bellin College, acquiring my Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification along the way. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from top-notch physical therapists and the expertise I gained with their help has made my work that much more enjoyable.

Outside of my work, I love to move. I surf, practice yoga, run, hike, weight lift, SCUBA, and spend time with my husband, cat, and dog. Travel is another love of my life. I’ve managed to visit over 40 countries, more often than not on a shoestring budget, and doubt I’ll ever stop looking for adventure both at home and abroad. My unorthodox approach to life has shaped my perspective on the human experience, including our relationships with our bodies. It has also brought me to the practice of meditation and mindfulness which heavily influence my treatment approach and undoubtedly make me a better provider and human.
